Planning a wedding our top 10 tips
Planning a wedding is the most exciting and stressful time in your life, so many big decisions to be made and the checklists seem to be never ending. As photographers we see it all, from the start to finish and its our job to capture all of those special moments, as well as all the special little details you have included to make this day truly yours and your partners.
Here are our top 10 tips to make sure that you have the least stressful wedding day possible.
TIP 1 – Create a list of all of those must have photos for the day, the ones that you have to have, IE you with your nan and pop, its important that as photographers we have this list for direction on the day. We can get all the most amazing photos in the world but if its missing that one really special one you have always wanted you will always wish.
Tip 2 – Have a back up plan for your day, for things that are out of your control, IE weather this way if something does go wrong you already have a plan in your head of how it can be changed and no stress is needed.
Tip 3 – Make sure that your timing is clear with guests and vendors, especially if you are from QLD and are having a tweed coast wedding, in the warmer months. DAY LIGHT SAVINGS!! I have seen weddings where guests/vendors are late because they didn’t take this into consideration. So make this clear when planning.
Tip 4 - Talk to your wedding party and make sure that they know what the plan is for the day, there is nothing worse then a rogue wedding party, make sure they know your expectations for the day so that everyone is on the same page.
Tip 5 - Don't forget to EAT, before the day make sure you have something organised for everyone to eat why getting ready, some snacks for photos and make sure you sit down and eat your dinner. You don't want to faint because you forgot to eat.
Tip 6 - DELEGATE, DELEGATE, DELEGATE, its so hard to let the reins go but on the day you ware going to want all of the time you can get to just enjoy the moment, make sure that uncle bob knows to take the arbor flowers to the reception and Aunty karen is in charge of the snacks for the bridle party.
Tip 7 - Try to plan in some alone time with your new Husband, even just 30 mins to gather yourself enjoy each others company and reset before the recpetion.
Tip 8 - Social Media - Social media is all the rage at the moment and trust me i have seen bridesmaid put photos up before the bride is even at the ulter, and if this is ok with you then thats fine BUT if its not make sure you make it clear to family and guests what you would like, even have your celebrant and MC repeat this.
Tip 9 -Pick a good MC and music, how your reception runs, how boring or fun it is has a lot to do with your MC, don't have someone there are plenty of professionals out there who can help. This is the fun part of the night and you want everyone to enjoy themselves.
Tip 10 - JUST ENJOY THE DAY, REMEMBER THIS IS THE BEST DAY OF YOUR LIFE, ENJOY IT, SOAK IN THE MOMENTS AND DONT SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF.
